Fashion Mourns

Tragic news… Alexander McQueen has died. He was found dead at his home in London this morning aged 40. One of the most amazing designers ever to have graced the runway with his amazing and thought provoking collections. More later….

These pictures are from the LA Times magazine, photos by Ruven Afanador, styled by Hayley Atkin and of course actress Emily Blunt as the model. They are like broken medical chic and I love them. The make-up is so simple but so strong, she looks serene and yet powerful. It’s good that the headwear frames rather than dominates her face and is a running theme throughout. The monochrome colouring to the photos is beautiful, they almost look like paintings.
